Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Love the patio seating, especially now, during the summer. Very pleasant and "Big Lou" was very attentive to us.

We ate here for my birthday on Mother's Day and it was fantastic. I was there for work and my husband came to visit for my birthday. We didn't have a reservation, which was a problem since it was also graduation weekend, but they allowed us to sit at the bar and eat, which was fine by me! We started with the Surf and Turf rolls and lamb lollipops. Both were delicious! I had the Tavern Chicken for my main, while my husband had the Prime Rib. SO DELICIOUS!!!!! Our meal was so great that I took the new manager of our store out for dinner there my last night in town. This time I had the Pross Scallops and she had the Peruvian Chicken. I will be dreaming about those scallops forever they were so good. The fennel and apple slaw on top was the perfect finish to the scallops on a bed of purple mash. I might have to come back just to get those scallops... and the lemon cake I finished dinner with. The service during both visits was spectacular and the drinks were also very good. Best place to eat in State College!

This was our second visit, and after a full meal this time, it’s definitely worth a review. The restaurant features distinct dining areas, including a second-floor speakeasy (currently closed for winter) that we were lucky enough to tour. We dined in the "red room," an elegant space with hardwood floors and walls covered in framed pictures. As for the food: Osso Bucco ($35): Braised with vegetables in a white wine brothβ€”incredibly tender and flavorful. Bouillabaisse ($40): A traditional fish stew with saffron broth and fresh seafood, served over pasta and vegetables. Short Rib Pappardelle ($40): The standout of the night! The meat was perfectly shredded and tossed in a rich tomato-red wine sauce. With a round of beers and cocktails, the total for three people came to $180. It’s a solid spot for a high-quality meal, though it feels a bit pricey for a college town.

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but after our experience last night, I felt like I had to. My daughter is a prospective student, and we came up for the long weekend to visit the campus. Unfortunately, because of the holiday, we weren’t able to schedule an official tour, but we still wanted to get a feel for the area. We decided to have dinner here, and everything about it was wonderful: the food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience. However, what truly made the evening special (and the reason I’m writing this) was our server, Avery. She was attentive, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations that we all loved. When we mentioned that we hadn’t been able to tour the campus, Avery went above and beyond. She shared her own experiences, answered our questions, and gave my daughter such helpful insight into what life at Penn State is really like. It meant so much to us, and it honestly made our entire weekend feel complete. We will absolutely be back, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area!

Went with a group of five on a Thursday night and quickly got a table. We shared the crab dip for an app. That was very good as was the bread. I had the bolognese which was also very good. Other members of our group had the salmon, chicken and tuna salad which we were a bit underwhelming especially for the price. Our server was very friendly, funny and nice which we enjoyed but I think for the upscale vibe the service could’ve been elevated a little like having servers box leftover meals up. All and all a good meal but I wouldn’t have to go back.
